Chappell Roan Channels Vampire Vibes in Striking Two-Piece for Reading & Leeds Festival

“She got, she got away.”—Roan, but also Dracula, probably.

While performing at the Reading & Leeds Festival in England this past week, Chappell Roan sported a jaw-dropping ensemble that any vampire would find quite comfortable—and we’d be happy to invite her inside.

The singer-songwriter positively blew up back in 2024 thanks to her high-energy live performances and her wildly successful single “Good Luck, Babe.” On the style side, Roan would typically wear different themed outfits during each of her live shows and often encouraged her fans to do the same, which quickly shot her to the top of the fashion world, as well.

After a brief hiatus, Roan returned to the spotlight in 2025 with a country-style single titled “The Giver.” Then, earlier this month, the artist shocked fans by dropping a music video for her highly anticipated track “The Subway,” which she’d performed a demo version of during previous concerts. Now, Roan is officially back on the festival scene, and we mean it when we say her style has only gotten better with time.

While she wore several amazing looks during her set across the pond, the most stunning was revealed with an appropriate level of drama, just before she took to the stage to perform a cover of the Heart classic “Barracuda.” As the guitars and drums sounded, a door slowly opened to reveal Roan, wearing a daring two-piece set by John Cowles Studio, which was crafted from a deep maroon fabric with bright purple boning for contrast.

The bra-style top featured sharp, scalloped edges and was tailored to a tee, expertly molded to her torso, while the high-waisted bottoms formed a sultry V-shape just beneath her bustline. Serving up pure Victorian-era gothic vibes, she accessorized with sheer black tights, sparkling knee-high boots and ruffly black lace gloves.

Her signature long, red hair was styled in tight, bouncy curls, while her makeup was right out of a 1980s glam rock fantasy, merging the contrasting maroons and purples from her ensemble into a breathtaking blended eyeshadow moment, which sat beneath dark, straight eyebrows.

And you already know plenty of the pop sensation’s famous friends and loyal followers took to her comment section on Instagram to sing her praises—both for her incredible look and for her incredible cover:

“🔥,” burlesque icon Dita Von Teese wrote.

“i love when women,” Chris Klemens joked.

“THIS IS YOUR BEST LOOK,” one fan proclaimed.

“lives were changed in this moment i’m so serious,” another added.

Still, our absolute favorite comment by far has to be this fan’s, for obvious reasons:

“I just love how she’s giving Shrek’s hot Dragon vibes, and ‘Barracuda’ is actually on the Shrek the Third soundtrack.” (And no, we will not be elaborating further on that at this time.)
