Madelaine Petsch Brings Dark Glamour to ‘The Strangers: Chapter 2’ Premiere

Madelaine Petsch was a daring beauty while wearing a dark gothic ensemble on the red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming project, The Strangers: Chapter 2. The actress took gothic glamour to the next level with her fantastic look.
Petsch’s recent red-carpet ensemble featured an iridescent teal blue evening gown. The top of the piece started with an off-the-shoulder neckline that was made even more significant with ruched fabric in the upper half. From there, a form-fitting corset took center stage, providing a cinched silhouette that was exceptionally gorgeous. The dress then pooled to the floor, and a trail of fabric extended from the piece.
The real show-stopping aspect of her outfit was her jewelry. The large cross necklace and her matching cross earrings were great additions to really sell the dark gothic vibes she was going for. Her makeup also gave the same vibes, with the darker lining around her eyes and fluffed eyelashes tying the look together exceptionally well. It’s a stunning look, perfect for the red carpet.
In her title, The Strangers: Chapter 2, Petsch reprises her role of Maya. Only this time, she’s going full survival mode since she escaped from hell the first time, and the mysterious individuals haunting her aren’t going to let her get away with it a second time. How she’ll come out on the other side remains to be seen. But no matter what, she’ll have to fight her way out.
“Maya’s growing as a person, and she’s understanding her circumstances a little bit more,” the 31-year-old expressed to LRMOnline at the San Diego Comic-Con 2025. “In movie one, she was in so much shock about what was going on, which I would think is very natural for a human to experience. And this time, she’s a little bit more settled in to her circumstances and fighting back and finding her survival instinct and her will to live.”
Her character isn’t the only thing undergoing a major change. Compared to its predecessor, the 2025 film is also shifting gears, giving the audience a different approach to horror than before.
“It’s just a completely different type of scare,” Petsch told Fandango in answering how the films differ. “In the first movie, it’s a little bit more of a typical horror film jump scare. I think in this one it’s a little more bone-chilling. You understand the character better, so you’re a little bit more on the journey with her and more concerned for her, I would imagine.”
She continued, “But also, you’re learning her and her survival instinct in a way where—they’re on a ride with Maya, so I think people are more like intrinsically scared. It’s more bone-chilling and less of a jump scare.”
The Strangers: Chapter 2 officially premieres in theaters on Friday, Sept. 26.
