When Olivia Rodrigo posts a new photo drop on Instagram, fans know they can expect to see some moody moments, some fun with friends and some seriously fashion-forward outfits.

The pop sensation’s latest drop was no exception, as she took to social media this week to delight her 39.3 million followers with a quick, intimate look at what she’s been up to recently. Still, one photo in particular stood out to us the most, as it featured a classic mirror selfie of the artist sporting one of this past summer’s hottest trends—if not the hottest trend.

Summer style, but make it fall-friendly

For the third snapshot in the four-photo carousel, the singer wore a timeless black ensemble with dainty white dots throughout. The button-up, collared piece was equal parts demure and delightful, making a summer trend fall-friendly thanks to the longer sleeves and adjustable neckline. The blousy fabric was loose and comfy-looking, perfect for layering under a much-needed coat to fight off autumn’s often unfriendly chill.

The superstar also switched up her hair for the look, parting her signature long, dark tresses to one side and pinning them at the top to keep her face clear. This also allowed for a better look at her glam, showing she opted for light pink and peach shades as opposed to her typical rock-star red lips—though her intense cat-eye eyeliner was still sharp enough to add that on-brand edge.

Other photos in the set also gave fans a peek at how the artist spent October, with a look inside her stylish home, some time spent with friends and a rather rainy-looking car ride. Overall, the drop was moody, aesthetic and classic Rodrigo.

New music on the horizon

Earlier this year, Rodrigo wrapped up her GUTS World Tour, which ran from February 2024 to July 2025 in tandem with the release of her sophomore album. She officially closed the book on this era of her career in early August 2025, commemorating the album with an Instagram post thanking fans for being a part of this “special chapter.”

Naturally, those who love the artist’s high-energy pop numbers and often revealing ballads were quick to wonder when her next era might begin—and we’ve already gotten confirmation that she’s working on new music! In case you missed it, Rodrigo revealed that she’s already back in the studio working on album number three via a recent American Express partnership. She also performed a special show for Platinum Card Members of the brand in New York City this month, taking the stage at a much more intimate venue than her popular stadium tour to create an up-close and personal fan experience.

While no date is set for when her next era will officially begin, fans can rest easy knowing Rodrigo is already hard at work—and looking stylish as ever while she’s at it.
