Zendaya Switches Up Red Carpet Bridal Looks to Instead Style ‘Something Borrowed’

Zendaya just seriously switched up her red carpet style, and the luxurious look gave fashion fans a fun bit of déjà vu.
The actress has been killing it all month while promoting her highly anticipated upcoming film, The Drama, which she stars in alongside Robert Pattinson. Given the project’s themes around weddings and marriage, Zendaya and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, have been partaking in a bit of fun themed dressing during the promotional tour. As a result, we’ve been treated to the star in multiple bridal looks in various whites, creams and ivories.
However, the two mixed things up for her latest red carpet walk in Rome, trading in those dreamy light shades for a sleek all-black style—but don’t fret, friends! The ensemble still fit into their bridal theme, as Roach noted the gown was indeed “something borrowed.”

Zendaya styles “something borrowed”
“Zendaya wearing the [Giorgio Armani] gown and [Louis Vuitton] high jewels worn first by the amazing Cate Blanchett #somethingborrowed,” Roach wrote in the caption of an Instagram post highlighting the daring designer look.
In the video, the stylist juxtaposed clips of Zendaya in the all-black number on Thursday, March 26, with Blanchett, who had previously worn the piece to the 2022 Academy Awards, as well as on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival last year. The form-fitting structure of the silky gown created a classic hourglass silhouette, and the glossy details on the plunging neckline, which varied in shape and size, provided pleasant, unexpected texture.
As Roach pointed out, the gown wasn’t the only part of the ensemble that saw the two stars twinning. Zendaya’s jewelry also matched Blanchett’s with the sparkling fan-shaped earrings, adding another level of luxury to the already chic look. To match the drama (hey, that’s the title of the movie!) of the actress’s elegant ensemble, they opted to style her short hair in loose curls, allowing several strands to hang over her eyes. Her makeup matched the moody aesthetic, with smoky, burgundy eyeshadows creating a seriously striking glam.
And the bridal theme continues...
As noted by People, while Zendaya has already styled plenty of “something new” options during this press tour, she’s also already worn her “something old” and “something blue,” as well.
On Tuesday, March 17, the actress walked the red carpet at the film’s Los Angeles premiere wearing an off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood number that definitely rang a few bells for fashion fans. Of course, this wasn’t her first time wearing the piece, having styled the same dress for the 87th Academy Awards back in 2015. And just before that, on Monday, March 16, she sported her “something blue” during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, wearing a pastel, floral maxi dress by McQueen.
The Drama hits theaters Friday, April 3, giving us one more week of sensational styles to look forward to—and they’re all but guaranteed to be wedding-worthy.
