Sydney Sweeney is starting off the year strong, as the actress has landed on the cover of W Magazine’s latest issue. The publication dropped the cover story on its website earlier this morning, while The Housemaid star shared a duo of snapshots captured by photographer Tyrone Lebon with her 25.8 million Instagram followers.

The magazine’s W Volume One: The Best Performances Issue for 2026 features a slew of different covers, including Sweeney, A$AP Rocky, Emma Stone, Tessa Thompson, George Clooney, Chase Infiniti, Benicio del Toro, Jodie Foster, Mia Goth, Michael B. Jordan and Jacob Elordi.

For her cover, Sweeney was styled by the publication’s editor in chief Sara Moonves, and posed in front of Lebon’s lens in gold paint, with her short blonde locks styled in Marilyn Monroe-inspired waves. And within less than an hour of posting her cover shot, Sweeney’s post racked up more than 205,000 likes and tons of comments from her loyal fan base.

“Golden girl 💛,” one fan gushed.

“The new Marilyn Monroe of today? 😍❤️🔥,” someone else wrote.

“photoshoot of the year and you already slay @sydney_sweeney❤️‍🔥🥰,” another fan observed.

“If this is only the first photoshoot of the year, I don’t think I’ll make it to the end of the year lol,” an additional user concurred. “what a photoshoot omg.”

During the interview portion of the feature, Sweeney opened up about how she’s able to seamlessly transition between real-life Sydney and the characters she portrays on screen, from Millie Calloway (The Housemaid) and Christy Martin (Christy) to Cassie Howard (Euphoria) and more.

“I’ve always trained myself to separate as much as I can from my characters and not to put my own thoughts or memories into a scene,” she told the outlet. “It allows me to know that a character is the one experiencing those moments, feelings and scenarios—I’m not. When they call ‘Cut,’ I’m able to just jump out of it and be back to Syd.”

With Season 3 of Euphoria returning to screens in April, 2026 is already gearing up to be a big year for Sweeney. Coming up, she will star in I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl, currently in pre-production, and a sequel toThe Housemaid, called The Housemaid’s Secret, is set to begin production later this year. Only six days into 2026, the year is looking nothing but bright for Sweeney.
